AAP silent on source of funds: Government

New Delhi, Jan 29 (IANS): The central government informed the Delhi High Court Wednesday that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has not responded to questions on its source of funds.

A division bench of Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and Justice Jayant Nath asked the petitioner, advocate M.L. Sharma, to include the AAP as a respondent and posted the case for Feb 5.

Appearing for the home ministry, Additional Solicitor General Rajeeve Mehra told the bench that the government had written twice to the party to ascertain the source of its funds. But the AAP has not responded.

"(The) government sent two notices to AAP... We are still waiting for their response. We (will) continue our inquiry," Mehra said.

Earlier, the court had directed the central government to go through the details of money donated to AAP since its inception Nov 26, 2012 and take action if anything was found in violation of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA).

The court was hearing a public interest litigation seeking a criminal case against AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and others for allegedly receiving foreign funds in violation of the law.

Petitioner Sharma also sought seizure of accounts and funds secured by AAP members.

"A direction to be issued to register a criminal case against the respondents (AAP members) under the FCRA and conduct of day-to-day trial proceedings with the supervision of the court, in the interest of justice," the plea said, naming Kejriwal, advocates Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan and Delhi Minister Manish Sisodia.

The plea said the FCRA prohibits funding from foreign countries for a political party.

However, Prashant Bhushan, appearing for one of the respondents, contended that "the petition is malafide".

Play time for the Government. So the Government checked and verified all the sources of funds for Congi and BJP. They found out that both the parties legally sourced the funds...from mines and corporate offices...AAP spent for elections transparently...not like these mafias's. Government is nothing but Congi H.Q.

Why are everyone behind AAP? From the politicians to the media they want to to sweep off AAP. It is a pity. Everyone should go through the Khrki extension, truth and judge for yourself about everything. As for the funding of AAP they are not given money by the mafia and corporate giants. Give the state government of Delhi a break friends and get off their necks so that they can function. Weigh all the other state governments with the same yardstick and see what they have achieved in the past years.

How can the AAP respond so clean!!! and so quickly!!!!

The fact of the matter is almost "ALL POLITICAL PARTIES" in India get most of their funds from various sources which are not known and they receive in "CASH".

Corporates are the big donors because they have "Vested Business Interests"

Please don't blame only "AAP" for that matter.

If this country and its citizens want to stop this "Nonsense" then bring "All Political Parties" under the ambit of RTI Act(Right to Information) and everything will be in "Black & White". Sounds good............

Central Govt. has written to AAP on the direction of the Court.

Hence, there is no malafide intention on the part of the Govt.

AAP is not practicing what it preaches.

I think this is the end of the road for AAP.

As per LAW, HC must dis-qualify 3 MLA's of AAP, including the CM and Law minister for 6 years and suspend them from contesting election for giving wrong accounts to election commissioner. The total budget set for each candidate in Delhi was 14 Lacs, and AK and other d that they have spent 4 Lacs each. There was a huge gathering in south Delhi, where 3 MLA's attended the rally and the total spending for that rally was 39 Lacs. Now, since these 3 MLA's attended it, the amount need to be spread equally among 3, which becomes 13 Lacs plus 4 lacs as d will become 17 Lacs, which is above the threshold Limit. ( Though i completely agree that the BJP and Congress might have spent in Crores, but those will be off the record ), this amount is purely white and nowhere in AAP Account mentions about this 39 Lacs . Hence it should be noted as AAP as violated the Code of conduct and set forward, and should be Dismissed Immediately.
The Petition is already filed in Delhi High court in this regard.

Arvind Sir, said that in 1 month, he has done a lot of things which no other party or government has done in the last 60 years of Indian history

Let’s count some of his achievements which he had promised to do in his manifesto and got votes for that

1 Jan Lokpal Bill was passed on 29th December 2013 as promised. We now have a very STRONG Lokayukta in Delhi for any kind of complaints

2 Delhi is now absolutely safe for women. No 13 year, 16 year old gang raped in last 1 month. Now even foreign women are safe. No 51 year Danish women got raped and no woman was asked to urinate in public or molested by a pervert Law Minister to prove innocence. The number of rapes in Delhi in last 1 month is also not 100 but it has come down to 0

3 Corruption has entirely finished. Now you can see, Ram Rajya has been established in Delhi. No one either gives or takes bribes

4 Delhi has become the house of productivity with each and every person contributing as no one is jobless now. All those engineering college students, DU students who voted for AAP have got awesome jobs

5 Inflations is over now. Onion sells at Rs 5 per kg.. Houses have become affordable. 1 can buy a 3bhk in South Delhi just for 20 lakhs and not 2 Crores

6 All 1.2 Crore Delhi junta is getting free water as promised. Earlier only 27 lakhs got water, that too paid. Now that the tanker mafia has been finished, Delhites are brimming with free water

7 As promised by Manish Sisodia, Ran Baseras (Night shelters) have been made for all those who stay out. 178 people have NOT been killed due to cold. Number of deaths due to cold is Zero

8 Sheila Dikshit got arrested within 7 days of Arvind Sir taking oath as CM of Delhi. Robert Vadra has returned all lands he had grabbed as claimed by Arvind Sir. Even Sonia Ji is in Tihar jail. Many Congress and BJP leaders are in jail

9 Finally Arvind Sir has neither taken nor given support to BJP/Congress to form govt. His govt. is NOT supported by Congress..

    continuing....
    10. No Laal Bathi Or V.I.P. culture.
Law Minister does NOT act like a vagabond, insulting women, charging a constitutional body calling it all sorts of names. So definitely this Minister is NOT above anyone.
    11. What 'REPUBLIC DAY'? This is only for V.I.P's..We will see how they conduct it! This was NOT said
by a CM who does NOT really know what 'dignity' his post holds!
    12. Bloated with gas in their stomach some maverick Ministers of this junk party did INDEED scout for toilets outside Rail Bhavan for 2 days INDEED demanding for the suspension of some SHO's!
Phew! What an achievement! What a Government! What Governance!!

From where the central govt. is getting funds for its party campaign. It reached his high now a days...whenever I on the TV channel...all ads talk about achievements, promises, etc. etc. It is not clear from which politicians pocket this money is spent?...After all it is our money either collected by tax, revenue generated from selling natural resources or industries and a small portion spent on development & major portion on politicians lavish lifestyle.
