Two killed in Karachi suicide blast


Islamabad, Jan 29 (IANS): At least two people, including a security personnel, were killed and six others injured when a suicide bomber attacked the Pakistan Rangers headquarters in Karachi city Wednesday, a media report said.

The attack was the third blast since Wednesday morning in the city's Nazimabad area, Geo News reported.

According to the report, a suicide bomber tried to enter the Rangers headquarters and blew himself up when he was stopped by the security personnel at the gate.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.

The first blast occurred when unidentified attackers hurled a hand grenade at a checkpost.

The other blast, a remote-controlled one, occurred just after a few minutes of the first explosion at the same place.

Initially, six people, including two security personnel and a policeman, were injured. Later, one security personnel succumbed to his injuries.
