Delhi sky to remain clear Monday


New Delhi, Feb 2 (IANS): Sunday was a pleasant day for Delhiites as the maximum temperature settled three notches above average at 24.4 degrees Celsius. The Met office forecast similar weather Monday.

"The sky will remain clear Monday. However, moderate fog is expected in the morning," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

Monday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 24 and eight degrees Celsius, respectively.

The national capital was wrapped under dense fog with very low visibility Sunday morning.

The minimum temperature was recorded two notches below average at 6.8 degrees Celsius.

Northern Railway said train operations were also disrupted.

"Visibility was terrible, I had to slow down despite the roads being empty," said Antriksh Shah, who was travelling to neighbouring Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 94 percent.

Saturday's maximum temperature settled two notches below average at 19.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was three notches above average at 11.1 degrees Celsius.
