Governor hosts At Home for PM in Jammu


Jammu, Feb 2 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra Sunday hosted an 'At Home' reception at the Raj Bhavan here for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is on a two-day visit to the state.

The prime minister met Indian and foreign scientists participating in the 101st Indian Science Congress which he will inaugurate Monday at the Jammu University.

Manmohan Singh interacted with the eminent scientists who included Nobel laureate Dr. Y. Lee, who was given the Nobel prize for his outstanding work in chemistry.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, union ministers S. Jaipal Reddy and Farooq Abdullah, state ministers and prominent legislators were present on the occasion.
