Both houses of parliament adjourned till noon

New Delhi, Feb 5 (IANS): Both houses of parliament were adjourned till noon Wednesday following slogan shouting by members soon after the obituary references.

In the Lok Sabha, Speaker Meira Kumar read the obituary references soon after the house met for the first day of the second half of the winter session.

As soon as she called the question hour, there was a din in the house, with Meira Kumar repeatedly urging the members to ensure order.

"This is the last session (of 15th Lok Sabha). What are you doing? Please take your seats," she said.

However, the din continued and she adjourned the house till noon.

Similar scenes were witnessed in the Rajya Sabha after chairman Hamid Ansari called the question hour, forcing him to adjourn the house till noon.

Opposition members were on their feet on a series of issues including the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Telangana and death of a youth from Arunachal Pradesh in the national capital.
