New Delhi, May 24: Indian selectors named the team for the West Indies Test series in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Niranjan Shah announced the squad that saw veteran leggie Anil Kumble along with Wasim Jaffer and wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik making it to the Test squad.
Youngsters Suresh Raina and VRV Singhaere also named in a 16-member squad for the Test series that will be starting from June 2.
Ajit Agarkar, who has been a consistent performer in the One-Dayers, found himself out of the Test squad.
Venugopal Rao and Robin Uthappa, too, have been dropped.
Although Sachin Tendulkar had ruled himself out of the tour but the inclusion Kumble and Laxman will be a big boost for the Indian team as they have the experience of the Caribbean conditions, having been part of the tours both in 1997 and 2002.
