Over one kg gold seized on Bangladesh border


Kolkata, Feb 19 (IANS): The Border Security Force (BSF) Wednesday seized over a kilo of gold worth Rs.38 lakh near a border outpost in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district.

According to BSF, a gold bar and two biscuits, weighing approximately 1.25 kg and worth Rs.38 lakh, were seized from near Hakimpur outpost along the India-Bangladesh border.

No arrest has been made yet.

The BSF so far has seized gold worth Rs.4.18 crore and apprehended seven smugglers from different parts of the state in 2014.
