Plea in SC against Rajiv killing convicts' release


New Delhi, Feb 20 (IANS): The Supreme Court will hear Thursday the centre's plea questioning the Tamil Nadu government to release seven convicts in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

The apex court bench headed by Chief Justice P. Sathasivam directed the hearing at 12.45 p.m. after Solicitor General Mohan Prasaran mentioned the matter, saying that the seven convicts should not be released till the court decides on the petition seeking review of its verdict commuting the death sentence of the three key conspirators to life imprisonment.
