Speaking on the theme of her exhibition, Liesl says that this series of works is based on fantasies. Her association with children and experiencing their joy of ex-pression through their paintings, antics and narration of various fabricated stories, led her thoughts to rediscover thus bringing about nostalgia of her childhood full of stories of beautiful fairies, pixies, goblins, elves, gremlins etc. away from this cruel world.

Continuing to explore her medium she has been trying to perfect she has this time used printed fabrics as a base for her work in the process utilizing and incorporating the ready patterns forms and colours to recreating a new pictorial space. The patterns on various fabrics are exciting and create various impressions when seen on the bodies of people in various moods. These fabrics add and life to the lives of people and I thought of using these pieces to create another world on its own.

Liesl has graduated from the Goa College of Art and has been actively involved and been contributing to the art scenario since 1989. She has had various Solo Exhibitions and a recipient of the State Art and A.I.F.A.C.S awards for her paintings.  Her entry at the International 17th EGA.
