Manmohan's Pakistan visit as Indian PM unlikely

By Arvind Padmanabhan
Nay Pyi Taw, March 3 (IANS):
With officials indicating little movement forward in the preparations, Manmohan's Singh's much-cherished desire to visit Pakistan, his country of birth, may come a cropper, at least as prime minister.

"We don't have any plans," a top government source said Monday as Manmohan Singh began a two-day visit to this Myanmar capital for the third BIMSTEC Summit among seven Asian nations.

Manmohan Singh, born at Gah in what is now in Jhelum district of north-central Pakistan, has been keen on visiting Pakistan to contribute towards resolving issues plaguing relations between the two South Asian nations.
