Muzaffarpur, Mar 3 (Agencies): BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi said on Monday that those opposed to him have only one dream and one agenda “stop Modi”.
Addressing a massive 'Hunkar' rally here, Modi said, “Their politics is built on one dream, one agenda - stop Modi. When Modi says control price rise, they say stop Modi. When Modi says stop corruption, they say stop Modi.”
“When I say that there should be development, they say Modi should be decimated... It is for the country to decide,” he added.
Accusing the opposition of raking up the issue of secularism whenever they feel under threat, the Gujarat Chief Minister said, “For them secularism is religion first, for us it is India first.”
“This Hunkar is not to show someone down but for our rights, to save nation from ruin and a call for change,” Modi added.
Welcoming Ram Vilas Paswan, who was present on the dais, Modi said, “Ram Vilas ji left NDA but whenever we met, we met very with great affection. If papers took photos he never got scared.”
Without naming Nitish Kumar he said, the Bihar Chief Minister was a “hypocrite” who met him with affection in a closed room and ate together but feared shaking hands in public. “People pardon your mistakes but not hypocrisy.”
On the emergence of the Third Front, he said, “Third Front consists of parties that are saving the Congress. Sometimes by will or due to fear of the CBI. They rise when polls near but are asleep otherwise. They can vitiate the atmosphere but never do good for India.”
“NDA is expanding. When I say NDA- it is National Development Alliance,” he added.
The Gujarat Chief Minister touched on the terror blasts in his Patna rally in October last year on the day of his rally to hit out at Kumar.
“The border (Bihar’s) with Nepal is a cause for concern. Bihar has become a haven for terrorists due to vote bank politics of the government. It has not adopted tough policies against them to appease some people,” he said.
“Those indulging in the politics of vote bank do not understand this ideology... sooner we get rid of such people, the better it is.”
Today's rally was Modi's first in Bihar since the one at Gandhi Maidan in Patna in November last year. Eight people were killed in multiple blasts at the rally venue and elsewhere in in Patna.
Modi will also address rallies in Purnia on March 10 and Gaya on March 14.
