Ghaziabad voters can check their names Sunday

Ghaziabad, March 8 (IANS): The Ghaziabad district administration Saturday appealed to voters to check their names in the voter list at a "matdaan chaupal" (polling forum) to be held Sunday, March 9.

Addressing a press conference, District Magistrate S.V.S. Ranga Rao said all the block level officers (BLOs) have been asked to be present at the polling stations. People who do not find their names in the voter list can fill form 6 and submit it to the BLO.

The DM said 21 flying squads will take action on complaints. He said the stocks of arms dealers are being physically verified and no fresh stock of cartridges would be allowed to be sold. The licenced arms would be deposited in police stations.

SSP Dharmendra Yadav said that as many as 106 vulnerable and critical polling centres have been identified. We expect at least 30 companies of paramilitary forces, he added.
