Afghan MP targeted in roadside bomb attack


Kabul, March 8 (IANS): A roadside bomb struck the vehicle of a parliamentarian in Afghanistan's Jalalabad city Saturday, injuring three people including the MP, a official said.

"A bomb planted by militants on a road in Behsoud district outside Nangarhar's provincial capital Jalalabad struck the vehicle of member of parliament Abdul Ghafar, injuring him along with two of his bodyguards," the official told Xinhua.

This is the second bomb blast in Jalalabad on the same day. One person was killed and five others were injured in the previous blast.
