Mumbai, Jun 5: Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, a one-time leading man has found himself relegated to bit parts as he's gotten older.
Rishi Kapoor had his first lead role, opposite Dimple Kapadia in the1973 film Bobby. And continued to play the lead, romancing young heroines till the late ‘90s.
But now with so many in the young brigade around, he is offered to play father roles.
Kapoor says he is fed up playing small roles in Bollywood that are largely driven by younger stars.
These days, however, he's being cast only in small roles, playing a father in recent movies, such as the recent Fanaa and the 2005 film Hum Tum.
And it’s not a situation he's pleased about.
"I don't want to play stupid 'father' roles," he says.
"Today you have to have a huge hero and heroine like Aamir (Khan) and Kajol in Fanaa to carry a film."
