10 killed in blast in Pakistan's Quetta

Islamabad, March 14 (IANS): At least 10 people were killed and over 20 others injured when a bomb exploded near a college in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta Friday, media reported.

While rescue officials put the toll at 10, government sources were yet to confirm the figure, Dawn online reported.

At least 20 people were shifted to the Civil Hospital after the explosion that took place at the busy Science College Chowk area of the city.

According to Frontier Corps (FC) officials, the bomb was planted on a bicycle near Science College and it appeared that the target was an FC vehicle that was passing by.

Though no FC vehicle was damaged, a bus that was passing by bore the brunt of the blast and caught fire.
