I am at least happy that since 16th Dec., 2012 that action is being taken on these Sex Predators. A crime of that kind on 16th Dec., was a wake up call and things are moving. People of India can shape this country for good and 2014 April May, is going to be the change. Whatever action this sex predator has done to his daughter needs to be given the severest of punishment and we need to tell weaker people that time has come for a wake up call to act immediately for all wrongful action even if it is a question of life and death. Nirbhaya gave us her life and hope and we need to respect that lady and fight the sex predators.

Vincent: 'Daughter of 3 years' and 'Daughter for 3 years', there
    is lot of difference.
    And 10 generous comments.!!!!!!
    Lol.
I think we should stop reading/writing/Publishing such news, our law is so stupid, this guy will come out by bail and the case will prolong for many years when his grandchild reads the news,
"71 years Soni, an alcoholic sentenced for 10 years for raping his own daughter when she was 12 yrs old.".

In your comments you in one side blame the father for raping her own child, same time you praise the person who married her there it makes the difference !!!.No one in this society will support this father but only but only condemn for his heinous act.Sure, I too praise the person who married this lady.Let 'GOD' shower the couple with his kind blessings.

    Amin Bhoja,

So ? What is your implication ? Should I have condemned the father and forgotten his wonderful counterpart ?

I always believe that my father, brother, spouse, sons are all men and I am fortunate to be in the company of them. Meaning, not generalizing.

Give dues to the deserving but never let the wicked go unpunished !

Now and then such cases come to light that own father raping his daughters.I Need not say here such men are not worth calling father ,and he deserves also no respect who doesn't behave with own children.and mother what she was doing all the time when Girls were misused?why is she a mother who can't protect her children from evil from the same house ?she should not think of husbands reaction later.she is there to protect.God forgive These beasts.

Rita,Germay: In the first place the news is not clear.
The victim is not necessarily his daughter.(May be step daughter).
Secondly, we can not blame the mother too, may be the victim is not her own daughter too.(May be step daughter.)
We should blame the society, not the relation. These days people marry 3/4 times, children are the sufferers if they are not looked after with proper, mutual understanding.
In any case the culprit has to be severely punished.

    Mr. Fernandes,

Please note, when a husband rapes his own daughter it should be under two terms (1) The mother suppresses the daughter not to utter a word due to family respect (2) The mother is not in a position to utter a word herself due to male domination.

If the mother was at fault, she would have stopped the daughter from filing a case even now. I continue to hold at high esteem all the family members who supported the daughter to take this step.

Well.. Well.. I won't be surprised if a certain male sympathizer over here says that 'she enjoyed being raped (by her own father) for three years'. I won't be surprised if he asks 'why is she complaining after nine years' !

I salute the man who married her, who may be knowing what his father-in-law did with his wife and I salute him because surely he was a great support to her in placing a complain this time.

Do not be sarcastic. If something is wrong, everybody will say it as wrong only.No sane person will say it as right. In this case man is wrong and he should be shot on his head.
Your method of trying to be sexist and passing one sided remark was not acceptable for many. That's all I want to say.

    Lydia:
And what if he did not know?.
And he comes to know after reading this news, you blame the media?.
And, after reading this news if he leaves his wife, you still salute him?.
It is easy to comment, difficult to justify.

    Rosario Fernandes,

I have all reasons to believe that the first respondent to my post is none other than you. Nevertheless, what do you expect ? The her husband finds out after this and leaves her ? Why ? Is it her fault that she was raped ? What do you expect her to do Mr. Fernandes ? End her life ? So who will live in this world ? Only those who managed not to be raped ? Today you will find every fourth or fifth woman in ten subjected to abuse. Who do you think the problem with ? Women or men ?

Tell me - what should be the medicine to this ? Men accept a woman he likes irrespective of her past abuse or dump five and go in search of the sixth ? How many will find a wife of their choice in this way ?

Common gentlemen ! Get down on the roads and repair the system ! Don't wait for the government to come to the rescue of a tormented woman and to punish the criminal - be vigilant and stop what is going on around you ! Do something to change the mentality of a few among you !
