Hiranandani Estate Kannada Balaga celebrates International Women's day

Mumbai, Mar 21: Hiranandani Estate Kannada Balaga held a programme at Balaji Food Plaza (Tulasi Hotel), Patalipada, Thane on Thursday, March 13 to celebrate international women's day.

Sarita Shetty, secretary of Inner Wheel and owner of Tulasi Hotel had arrived as chief guest.

The Chief Guest and office bearers of Kannada Balaga lighted the lamp and set the programme in motion.  Female students of Swaralaya Music School said the prayer.  Secretary Manushree Kumar welcomed the gathering.

Shamala Kotian introduced the guests.  President Prema Rao felicitated Sarita Shetty with a flower bouquet and a memento.

Prema Rao spoke on the importance of Women's Day.  She said that modern day woman shines in all walks of life, besides taking the responsibility at home and plays a major part in the development of the country.

Sarita Shetty spoke on woman power and said she is glad to say that a large number of women participated in the Motor Sports organized by Lavasa Corporation and established Guinness record.  The confidence of women is the main reason for their progress, she said.

Anjana Kulkarni proposed vote of thanks.  Songs, dances and musical chair games were held as part of the programme.
