'Beginning of Modi era doesn't mean end of Advani era': Shiv Sena to BJP

Mumbai, Mar 22 (PTI) : The Shiv Sena today hit out at its ally the BJP and questioned why the party took so long to decide on senior leader LK Advani's Lok Sabha seat. "While Narendra Modi's era has begun, it does not mean that it is the end of Advani's era," party president Uddhav Thackeray said in an editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana'.

"Advani's name should have been in the first list of BJP Lok Sabha candidates. However, this did not happen. One who built the party and showed it days of glory was kept waiting," Mr Thackeray added.

Targeting the further BJP, he said, "Why should the BJP take so long to decide on Advani constituency. Doing so is his insult."

On Thursday, after long hours of coaxing by top BJP leaders, Mr Advani agreed to run from Gandhinagar in Narendra Modi's Gujarat, though he had made it clear that he preferred Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.

After showing much resistance, he was mollified by party leaders including Rajnath Singh and Narendra Modi.

"Murli Manohar Joshi was asked to contest from Kanpur so that Modi could contest from Varanasi. Rajnath chose safe seat Lucknow instead of Ghaziabad. Jaitley was fielded from Amritsar by removing Navjot Sidhu from fray. Then why was there so much delay in Advani's case," the article in Saamna read.

"The relation that the veteran leader has with the masses is still intact. The Advani episode may seem trivial in comparison with the current political tribulations but one must keep in mind that big accidents can occur through such small incidents," the Sena leader said.

His sharp remarks come in the backdrop of a rift between the two parties after former BJP president Nitin Gadkari met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray, leading to the Sena launching a tirade against Mr Gadkari.

Beginning of Modi Era means end of democracy within BJP.
Modi is a dictator as admitted by the majority of the right thinking people within BJP itself.

When it comes to Marathi pride or Maharashtrian issues both the Shiv Sena and MNS will keep Hindutva aside and abandon the BJP like how the Shiv Sena went against the BJP to support Maharashtrian Congress woman Smt.Pratibha Patil for the President's post.

For Shiv Sena as well as MNS, Sons of the soil is a main issue, the rest is secondary.
Whoever is helping them to achieve their goal is their friends, some are neutral and whoever is detrimental to achieve their goal is their enemies.

Dear Rajesh Shetty, How BJP can make ally with MNS? your national president Rajnath Singh cannot enter Maharashtra, as he is from Uttar Pradesh. What your party will answer UP & Bihar victims who has beaten by MNS people in Mumbai couple of years back? BJP will loose in UP and Bihar if they make ally with MNS in Maharashtra.

In trying to achieve Congress mukt Bharat, Feku has ultimately achieved BJP mukt Bharat as the BJP is today virtually non-existent.

Now there is just FEKU'S PARTY.

Two BIG parties (Old allies) parted ways of BJP, since Modi is on the helm of affairs.

    1. Nitish Kumar led Janata Dal
    2. Now, Shiv Sena is as good as parted.

"Aikava Jagasa, Karava Manasa" (Marathi) Listen to everyone, but do according to your inner voice. This is what today, BJP will do to the Shiv Sena's remarks. Shiv Sena is a ship, half sunk. The tiger is dead and the sound of the roaring of the cub is feeble.

India does not need both because one is King and another is the crown prince of communalism. Advani is PM in the waiting and Modi is PM in the dreaming. Luckily, their supporter Shivsena is confined to some pockets of Maharastra because of their sectarian mindset.

Agree with up to some extent, but don't forget the major role of Advani in the demolition of Babri Masjid which is a huge shame to our democratic country written in black dots of Indian history.

Feku too sailing in the same boat which will be sidelined later on.

    No to communalism anymore.

Blood is thicker than water. Ultimately the Shiv Sena and the MNS are two sides of the same coin. Their ideologies are identical. It is more likely that they both together might eventually kick the BJP out.
Uddhav and Raj are more than first cousins i.e. they are almost like brothers. Raj's father the late Shrikant Thackeray is the real younger brother of Uddhav's father the late Balasaheb Thackeray and Raj's mother Smt. Kunda is the real younger sister of Uddhav's mother the late Smt. Meena Thackeray.
In short, two brothers married two sisters.

Evidence of this could be seen at late Shri Balasaheb Thackeray's funeral where Uddhav and Raj put their differences aside and performed the funeral rites together. Although Raj had left Matoshree and had virtually cut himself off from his uncle and Uddhav he could be seen genuinely weeping bitterly at Balasaheb's funeral.

That is very unlikely John because the SS and MNS have their stronghold only in Mumbai and in some towns scattered here and there in Maharastra such as Pune etc. Secondly, Mumbai now has fewer Maharashtrians compared to North Indians (UP Biharis) and Gujaratis, so even in Mumbai though they manage to make a lot of noise they cannot convert them to victories. SS has been ruling the Mumbai Corporation and some local bodies, but beyond that they have not been able to make a considerable impact. Finally, their support for the Marathi Manoos is more about whipping up of community passions with a lot of fiery speeches, which is mostly just lip service and when they need them to do some thod-phod. Most of their cadres are from the poor and very low middle class who can be easily influenced with fiery talk. I have lived long enough in Mumbai to know this.

    Shiva Sene,

There is no such thing called beginning or end of a person's era in our DESHABHAKTHA party. IT IS THE BEGINNING OF BJP, not Modi or Advani.. In our Party, everyone is smaller when it cones to PARTY.

It is not Shehzada's or Buffoon's party which is always person-centric.
