New Delhi, Jun 8: While scrutinizing alleged drug dealer Sahil Zaroo’s mobile phone, the Delhi police stumbled upon the number of a Dutch girl, with whom he apparently shared a close relationship.

The cops have shortlisted people, with whom Sahil (22) was in regular touch with.

Emily Stevenson (name changed), a Dutch national of Indian origin, figures in it. The police feel she could lead them to more information on Sahil’s contacts in Mumbai.

Sahil’s mobile records revealed he had messaged his New Delhi number to Emily six days before the incident and frequently called her and sent her SMSes.

In his statement to the police, Sahil admitted he was close to Emily, saying he wanted to help her get into Bollywood and introduced her to various contacts.

MiD DAY traced Emily, who came to Mumbai nearly a year ago, and was introduced to Sahil about six months ago. She denied having a relationship with Sahil. “He is a common friend.

We first met at Aziano club in December 2005. “Since then, we have bumped into each other often and exchanged telephone numbers,” said Emily. She denied that Sahil introduced her to Bollywood celebrities.

“I last met him at Aziano on May 12, when I got into an argument with a Bollywood person. Sahil played mediator. He called me the next day and told me to settle the issue with the person,” she said.

She added, “A few days later, Sahil SMSed me his Delhi number and asked me to keep in touch. I am unaware of his personal life and don’t know if he took drugs or not. But I have never seen him drink alcohol.”
