Mumbai, Jun 8: Director Ram Gopal Varma is known for his slick flicks and Bollywood muses.

After giving the film industry actresses like Urmila Matondkar, Antara Mali and Nisha Kothari, Varma is now introducing 18-year-old Jiah Khan as a temptress in his upcoming film.

Jiah plays a temptress in Nishabd, Varma’s take on Vladamir Nabokov's controversial story Lolita.

Jiah is the leading lady and has been paired opposite Amitabh Bachchan as the object of the superstar's affection. The film also stars Revathy, Rukhsar and Aftab Shivdasani.

Nabokov's book Lolita created a stir in literary circles when it was published in the 50s for its taboo plot about a 40-something man's sexual obsession for his 12-year-old stepdaughter.

The book was made into two films including one by Stanley Kubrick. Ram Gopal Varma, for his part, says his isn't an out-and-out remake.

"It is a story of an older man falling in love with a very young girl. The story is about a 55-year-old falling in love with an 18-year-old girl," Varma says.

"It is not Lolita, with a middle-aged man’s obsession with an under aged 14-year-girl. The film definitely has nothing to do with that," he adds.

The shooting for the film began in Kerala with a 20-day hush-hush schedule.

Interestingly, Ramu isn't the only filmmaker tackling the subject currently. Ek Choti Si Love Story director Shashilal Nair is also working on his version.

So get set for not one, but two Lolitas.
