Six trapped inside China coal mine


Beijing, March 27 (IANS): Six workers were trapped Thursday following a rock burst at a coal mine in central China's Henan province.

The rock burst occurred at 11.18 a.m. when 18 miners were working at a shaft of Qianqiu coal mine, owned by the Henan Yima Coal Industry Group, Xinhua reported citing a spokesman of the group.

The spokesman said 12 miners managed to escape but the remaining six were stuck inside the mine.

Rescue work is underway.
