Trapped miners confirmed dead in central China


Beijing, March 28 (IANS): The bodies of six miners trapped after a rock burst at a coal mine in central China's Henan province were found by rescuers Friday.

The rock burst occurred at 11.18 a.m. Thursday, when 18 miners were working in a shaft of Qianqiu coal mine, owned by the Henan Yima Coal Industry Group.

Twelve of them managed to escape but six got trapped inside, Xinhua reported.

Qianqiu coal mine suffered a major rock burst accident in 2011 as well, in which 10 workers were killed.
