Udupi, Mar 29: Anil Alva of Moodubelle, a successful photographer, has ventured into producing ‘Badk’, a short telefilm, under the banner of KK Productions, Moodubelle. The muhurat of the telefilm was held in front of St Lawrence Shrine recently.

Prakash Suvarna Katapady, an eminent reporter and producer of prize-winning telefilms, did the honours by switching on the camera.

Speaking on the occasion, Katapady said that producing such telefilms would give a good opportunity to the young talent in the villages and wished KK Productions well.

Fr Joswey Fernandes, parish priest, St Lawrence Church, blessed the project. Fr Paul Sequeira, in his message, wished the telefilm unit the best in their venture to produce such a socially relevant film.

‘Badk’ will be presented at the ‘Karavali Utsava-2014’ to be organized by Disha Communications in which telefilms in Kannada, Tulu, and Konkani languages depicting social problems will be accepted in the competition section.

The telefilm is being directed by Prabhakar Acharya and local actors will make up the cast. Videography is by Sandeep and Jason Udupi. The telefilm will be shot at locations in and around Moodubelle such as Hangarakatte, Gundupaade, and Kattingeri.

Prabhakar Acharya welcomed and spoke about the telefilm. Geetha U proposed the vote of thanks.
