Four children burnt to death in Jharkhand

Ranchi, March 29 (IANS): Four children were burnt to death in Jharkhand's Giridh district Saturday, police said.

According to the police, a fire broke out in the house of Khalif Mia situated in Brajo village of the district, about 160 km from the state capital Ranchi on Saturday.

Three children died after being engulfed by the fire while one succumbed to injuries during treatment.

"It seems fire broke out in the second floor of the house as children might have been playing with match sticks. The bodies have been sent for postmortem. The children were in the age group of five to 11 years," a police official told IANS over telephone.
