Smriti Irani to take on Rahul Gandhi in Amethi

New Delhi, Apr 1 (PTI) : Ending suspense, BJP Monday night fielded actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani to take on Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi in Amethi.

It also nominated Supreme Court lawyer Ajay Aggarwal against Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli.
Earlier, there was speculation that the party may field Uma Bharti from Rae Bareli. Sources said Bharti was not keen to leave her Jhansi seat to contest from Rae Bareli and there was no consensus on making her contest from two seats.

The decision on Irani and Aggarwal was taken at a meeting of the party's Central Election Committee, where top BJP leaders Narendra Modi, L K Advani, Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley were present.
The party decided to field Bhairon Prasad Mishra from the Banda Lok Sabha seat in UP.
New Justice Party (NJP) President A C Shanmugam will contest from Vellore Parliamentary constituency in Tamil nadu on BJP's Lotus symbol, said BJP General Secretary J P Nadda.
The CEC also announced that its state general secretary Karuappa M Muruganantham will contest from the Thanjavur Lok Sabha seat.

The party is also in advance talks with TDP for an alliance in Andhra Pradesh, but a decision on the issue would be taken by tomorrow, party sources said.

After the party announced her nomination, Irani said, "In the name of the 'family', the people of Amethi have been kept away from the fruits of development for too long. I think it is an extreme shame."
She said that a change will brought about in the country under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

Parsis too have Indian Surnames like Mehta, Patel, Modi, Gandhi. 80% of Parsi surnames are derived from the Gujarati language or from the Villages of Gujarat, as Parsis Came from Persia and Settled mainly in Gujarat about 1100 years ago and also adopted Gujarati language as their Mother tongue.

Professional English/Gujarati surnames like - Engineer, Contractor,Vakil, Doctor, Sahukar,Shroff, Captain.(Eg: Cricketers - Nari Contractor, Farook Engineer).
Village or Town names like : Cricketer Rusi Surti, Pali Urmrigar. Others place names ending with Walla like: Suratwala, Balsaria, Damanwala, Barodawala.
Longest parsi Surname in the World: Soda-water-bottle-opener-walla.
All the above details you will find in Wiki or other Internet portals. Actually South Indians do not have proper knowledge about this Parsi Community. Half knowledge is more dangerous.

Even before the nomination, Smriti Irani of BJP since last 2 weeks got free publicity from media. Channels were continuously running the same line over and over again. Now, entire india believes she is the toughest candidate and will beat Rahul hands down. This is something called creation of wave. If someone is expert in manipulating the imagination of the common man, then it is BJP. I certainly admire them for that. This is the same way a wave was created for Modi from the last couple of months. There is no true substance. It is masterly capturing the imagination of people. Each of Modi's most admired qualities can be rebutted with facts and figures. But, the problem is when the hype is created, such deliberation take last place. Truth can happen only after the event, like fmr cm Yuddi who brought bad name to Karnataka. There were many even in this forum, who used to abuse the people who wrote against Yuddi and BJP then.

Smriti Malhotra became Smriti Irani after her marriage to Zubin Irani (Parsi surname), how Edvige Antonia Albina Màino became Sonia Gandhi after her marriage to Rajiv Gandhi.
But one Parsi by name Feroz Jahangir Khan change his name to Feroz Jahangir GANDI (his family surname) after his marriage to Indira Priyadarshini, after sometimes it spelt as Gandhi, the same surname is carrying by Nerhy dynasty in their name now.

Rahul Gandhi will be victorious from Amethi beyond the shadow of a doubt !
Smriti Irani is just being put there to attract media attention which the BJP loves to have.
Kumar Vishwas has chosen the wrong constituency to contest from. The AAP should not have wasted his candidature because had he contested from a place with better winning chances the AAP would have had one more seat in their kitty.
AAP should focus on winning more seats rather than engaging in clashes with personalities wherever their winning chances are less.
The more seats that they acquire the bigger the force will they be to reckon with in Parliament, which is the need of the hour as they may not be able to independently form the government nor are they willing to get into an alliance with any party.

We support the ideology a party believes in. Both the Congress and the AAP are secular and inclusive in their outlook, agenda and beliefs. As I have said umpteen times before that corruption is a repairable problem, but a communal mindset is next to impossible to change.
Anybody's shoulder can be used to shoot Modi as he is the one and only enemy here.
We don't even see the BJP as an enemy anymore.

All these while there was a unspoken agreement between BJP & Congress of not fielding Credible candidates against each other’s political bigwigs like Sonia, Rahul, Advani, Vajpayee etc. But since congress made a first move of fielding a supposed to be strong Candidate against Modi in Gujarat, all hell broke loose. Smrithi Irani against Rahul is the outcome which is in line with the current situation in their respective high command. I feel Smrithi or BJP themselves, they know that their agenda is not for winning Amethi , but only to spoil Rahul’s chances of winning or if he does just to reduce the margin of votes and thus create a insecure situation as even AAP has put a strong candidate against Rahul in AMethi. It’l not be a surprise if suddenly both party pull back their candidates now. Both are waiting against for each other now before they make their next move. Smrithi, thus decided to become this Bali ka Bakri for Amethi & if she does not win am sure BJP has already proposed plan B for her through Rajyasabha. So amethi will be Triangular fight this time.

She is an elected MP from Rae Bareli in India and when she travels to foreign countries, it only happens with a Diplomatic Indian Passport.
The same is the case with Rahul Gandhi.
Refusal to accept the PM's post in 2004 had nothing with the passport as she was already an Indian passport holder.
