Margao, Jun 12: Husband and wife from Guddimol- Curchorem were assaulted on Saturday by two persons from the same area.

The Curchorem police said that Sapna Dessai and her husband, Ganba Dessai were assaulted by Prakash Wadar and Bhima Wadar. The police said that Saturday evening they were assaulted with dandas.

The police disclosed that Ganba was taken to Kakoda Health Centre and there after he was shifted to Goa Medical College, Bambolim. He has suffered head injuries.

The police have registered the offence under Section 326 of Indian Penal Code and investigation is in progress. Curchorem police on Sunday visited the hospital to record Ganba’s statement.
