Patna, Jun 14: Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Tuesday sought permission from a special CBI court, hearing the cases of multi-crore rupees fodder scam of Bihar, for a foreign tour.

By filing a petition along with the photocopy of the foreign tour programme before designated judge Munilal Paswan, it was urged by counsel Pradeep Kumar Tiwary that Prasad would lead an official delegation of Indian Railways to the United Kingdom, France, Austria, Italy and Germany.

Prasad would also attend a high level meeting with Union of International Railway in Paris followed by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Indian Railway and Italian national railway in Rome.

A permission was sought by Prasad for the foreign tour from June 23 to July 8. It was also urged by the counsel that earlier Prasad was granted permission by the court for a tour to Pakistan and Philistine to attend the funeral of late Yasir Arafat.

The court fixed June 20 as the date for further hearing on the petition with a direction to submit original copy of the foreign tour programme.
