New Delhi, Jun 14: The BJP on Tuesday experessed concern over China's strategic ties with Pakistan in the wake of Islamabad's bid for Beijing's support in building nuclear power plants.

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf is seeking China's financial and technical support to set up two more nuclear plants in his country after Washington turned down Islamabad's request for a civilian nuclear deal.

BJP chief Rajnath Singh, who met Chinese Ambassador Zhen Qingdian at the party office here, called Pakistan an "acknowledged hub of pan-Islamic terrorism" as he expressed concern over Beijing's strategic ties with Islamabad.

China has helped Pakistan build two 350 mw power plants at Chashma in Punjab province. Pakistan wants China to build new power plants at the same place.

Also, the BJP leader drew the Chinese Ambassador's attention towards anti-India activities in Bangladesh.

"The BJP feels that there is no imminent external threat to Bangladesh. But, in recent years, Bangladesh has emerged as a centre of anti-India activities. And I hope that China would take a note of the BJP's concern on the issue," a party statement quoted Singh as having told Zhen.

The statement said the Ambassador also spoke about the need to develop party-to-party relations between the Communist Party of China and the BJP and other political parties in India.
