Mangalore: Annual sports meet held at St Ann’s College

Mangalore, Apr 10: The BEd students of St Ann’s College of Education gathered with great zeal and enthusiasm to witness and participate in the annual sports meet which was held on Wednesday April 9, here in the city.

Mahabala Marla, the mayor of the Mangalore City Corporation, inaugurated the sports meet.

Addressing the students Mahabala expressed, “The sports meet organized at schools and colleges brings about proper synchronization of both mind and body and yields to a better personality.”

He also appreciated the eminence and splendour of the college since its inception and urged the students to add to its prominence by maintaining the good reputation of the college.

In accordance Pramila Menezes, the sports secretary led the parade along with the students, marching with pride and elegance.

The students danced to the rhythm of the beats by performing aerobics, a form of beautiful and enchanting exercises.

After the formal programme, a number of sports events were held for the students wherein they participated enthusiastically.

The overall championship was bagged by the group members of the Jawaharlal Nehru team.

Harnakshi and Pramila Menezes won the individual championships.

Dr Sr Shalini, the joint secretary of St Anns’ College of Education was also present.

Sonia Michelle Fernandes compered the programme while Sushma Pearl proposed the vote of thanks.
