President, PM pay tribute to Ambedkar


New Delhi, April 14 (IANS): President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Vice President Hamid Ansari Monday paid tribute to B.R. Ambedkar on his 123rd birth anniversary.

With several other leaders present, the dignitaries paid floral tributes to the principal architect of the Indian Constitution at his statue in the precincts of Parliament House complex.

The day is celebrated as Ambedkar Jayanti across the nation.

Ambedkar was born in Madhya Pradesh's Mhow town in 1891. He was independent India's first law minister.
