Mum, April.18: The Stations of the Cross is understood as the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ.  This suffering and death is enacted year after year by the catholic church to remind us of Jesus' unconditional love for us.  A love that had no limit, even unto his death, on the cross. It was because of the support and the appreciation of the parishioners of St. Vincent Pallotti Parish that the Stations of the Cross enacted this consecutive year by the Youth and PYAT of the parish in co-ordination and the support and animation of the Parish Fr's ; Fr.Charles Fernandes, Fr. Paulo Dias and Fr. Francis. As we all knowthat this liturgical year has been announced as the Year of the Eucharist, the theme for the Stations of the Cross too was life in the Eucharist. The drama unfolded itself right from the last supper, the Eucharist was instituted and commenced with the death and burial of Jesus in the tomb.

The highlights of this event were the temptation of the devil in the garden of Gethsemane, the testimony of Master Denver Pinto a standard X student diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and the testimony of an ex-alcoholic from a not so far away parish.  The life of Cardinal Francois Xavier Van Thaun of Vietnam and his life in prison during the Vietnam war and the celebration of the Eucharist within the confines of the prison strongly brought out the strength of the irresistible love of Jesus.

Master Clinton Luis who played the role of Jesus, moved on from station to station, re-living the painful death our Lord Jesus Christ underwent, in order to save us sinners.  His death proved in the words of the centurion, that HE truly was the Son of God.
