Goa, Jun 20: Chief minister Pratapsingh Rane formally announced that the Zuari Bridge needs a repair and the bridge is turning unsafe for the people.

As per this the bridge has now been formally closed for all vehicles weighing above 6 tonnes. As an alternative measure the state government has chalked out a plan that all the passengers travelling from Margao to Panaji and vice-versa will have to get down near the Zuari Bridge on either sided. From there a Kadamba shuttle bus would take them to the other side of the bridge and thereafter the passengers should take the concerned bus and carry on with their journey.

However, this plan has been causing immense problems to the passengers. Hence the people have opted to travel by alternative route, that is, via Ponda (which is around 6-10 kilometres more than the usual journey).
