Jakarta, April 25 (IANS): The Indonesian government Friday denied that a passenger plane of Australia's Virgin Blue airline forced to land in Bali was hijacked, adding that the aircraft had landed safely and all passengers on board were secured.
"A man trying to enter the cockpit an hour before the plane landed was drunk," J.A. Barata, a spokesman of the Indonesia's transport ministry told Xinhua.
But the incident triggered a hijack alert, he added.
The plane of Virgin Blue Airlines, Australia's second largest airline, was reported hijacked at 1.04 p.m. Jakarta time. It was on its way to Bali from Brisbane and landed at 2.10 p.m.
The Indonesian police have arrested the passenger and are investigating the matter.
