Margao, Jun 26: South Goa Lok Sabha member Churchill Alemao has urged to state government to get experts from Japan to  ascertain the condition of the Zuari bridge.

"As per my knowledge the Japanese have better expertise in bridge construction. It is for this reason I think the state government should bring some experts and good technicians of bridges from Japan and should try to solve the problem it is facing at present" said Alemao while addressing a press conference in a city hotel.

After getting the facts about the bridge, the cabinet should take cabinet the decision to construct the Bailey bridge and forward it to the union government, he said further.

He also said that the government in the meanwhile make clear its views on the expansion of Dabolim Airport.

As tourism minister Dr Wilfred D'souza has told presspersons,  the Navy is ready to give its 9-acre land for expansion of the airport, where the four air bridges will be commissioned. But no steps had been taken regarding this, hence Alemao wanted to know the reason from the state government, as also why there was a the delay in the implementation of the work.

Alemao has also served an ultimatum on the state government saying that if the government did not take up expansion of the airport, he would be forced to intensify his agitation for it.
