Helpline for young mothers launched

New Delhi, May 6 (IANS): A nationwide breastfeeding and miscarriage support helpline was launched here Tuesday to help educate young mothers.

The helpline, managed by experts, will provide emotional and remedial assistance to couples who have suffered miscarriage. It was an initiative by Fortis Mamma Mia, a fitness, wellness and information solution for maternity and child care.

"We recognise the challenges women face during the birth process... our effort is to empower women, help them cope with these challenges and provide a strong emotional support for a wholesome parenting experience," said Anika Parashar, chief operating officer of Fortis Mamma Mia.

The helpline will also help eliminate fears attached to breastfeeding by answering queries of mothers.

The helpline number 91-9643822920 will be operational from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and it also has a call-back service for night hours.
