Light rain in Delhi, more expected Sunday


New Delhi, May 10 (IANS): The national capital saw partly cloudy skies throughout Saturday and received light drizzle in the evening, making the weather pleasant and providing relief from the heat.

The city received 0.2 mm of rainfall from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Saturday, Weather Office said.

The maximum temperature settled a notch below the season's average at 38.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 23 degrees Celsius, two notches below average.

The Weather Office has forecast light rain in the city Sunday too.

"The city will see partly cloudy skies tomorrow (Sunday) and some parts will get light rain," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 38 and 22 degrees Celsius.

Friday's maximum temperature was recorded a notch below the season's average at 38.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 24.1 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average.
