Man kills 2 wives, seeks new lover on TV

Ankara, May 11 (Agencies) : A 62-year-old Turkish man who murdered his two former wives has made headlines in Turkey after appearing on a TV marriage program to find a new partner.

Sefer Calinak  appeared on a Turkish television dating show in search of a new partner.

He shocked the host of Flash TV’s “Ne Çıkarsa Bahtına” (The Luck of the Draw) and the audience when he casually admitted killing his two previous wives, stressing that he was now an “honest person looking for a new wife.”

Sefer Calinak, admitted on TV that he had served prison sentences for each of the murders and had been released under an amnesty programme.

"I'm an honest person looking for a new wife," he told the show.

His first spouse was his cousin, Fadime, with whom he eloped when they were both aged 17, after the girl’s family tried to force her to marry a widower. The two lived together with Calınak’s family for five months, but then things started to change, he said.

He was "irritated" by her behavior and killed her.

He also murdered his next partner because he thought she was after his money.

“I killed her after she tried to kill me,” he said.

“She was accidentally killed when I swung the axe.”

Calinak was asked to leave the show by the host, prompting applause from the studio audience.

However, he said that he was simply the victim of "destiny".

“Bad luck always found me,” he said.

“Despite everything, I still want to get married. This time I’ll leave it to God.”
