18 killed in China wall collapse


Beijing, May 11 (IANS): At least 18 people were killed and three injured Sunday in a wall collapse due to water-logging after a rainstorm in east China's Shandong Province, authorities said.

A wall of a renewable resource company building in Qingdao collapsed and fell onto a makeshift residence for company staff at around 5.48 a.m. Sunday, the city government's press office said.

Three injured people have been admitted to hospital. Rescue workers are still searching the rubble at the site.
