Bangalore, Jun 30: Lioness council Dist 324 D1 held its Awards Day  on June 25 in the  Shadaksharaswamy Auditorium, SJRC College, Bangalore to appreciate and acknowledge the work done by the Lionesses for the Lionistic year 2005-06.

The function began with invocation song, followed by the meeting called to order by the Presiding Officer and Dist Chairman for Lioness clubs Ln. R. Chandrasena. Flag Salutation was conducted by Lns. Jessie Rodrigues.

Ln. Chandrasena in his welcome address appreciated all the Lionesses for their yeoman service to Humanity. He added 'Many make noise about their service but Lionesses remain silent'. "Deeds but not Words" will signify their achievements, he added.

Chief guest and district governor Lion M. Aswathaiah MJF expressed his extreme happiness towards Lioness Council as he had participated insome of the programmes organized by the Council and congratulated them on their achievements.

Guest of honour Ln Ajantha S. Rangaswamy MJF said she had no words to say but to encourage the Lionesses to carry on the great work theyhave been doing.

Associate chairperson Lns. Kalavathi Phutane delivered a "Thank you" note to all the Lionesses. She added that during the course of the year 250 new Lionesses had joined, bringing the total to 1,250 with 47 Lioness clubs.

Council secretary Lns.Girijashree Rajaram briefed on the service activities for the year, stating the the service amount alone crossed Rs.25 lac.  Council treasurer Lns. Prabha Chandrashekar placed before the gathering the facts and figures for the year.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Lns. Veena Bangera, past council secretary.

This surely was a day that would remain unforgettable in the hearts of all the Lionesses as they walked away with appreciation awards.
