Woman arrested for trying to smuggle gold worth R 25 lakh by hiding it in undergarments


New Delhi, May 18 (Daily Bhaskar) : The custom officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi arrested a woman for trying to smuggle gold.
 
The woman has hid the gold bars in her undergarments. The custom commissioner Neeta Butalia said that the woman reached terminal-3 from Dubai by flight SG-19 of Spice Jet Airlines.
 
As the woman was passing through the green channel without any declaration, the custom officials stopped her for frisking.
 
In the meanwhile at least 975 gram of gold which is worth Rs. 25 lakh in Indian market was recovered from her.The custom officials have arrested her after filing a case against her under section 104 of Custom Act.
