Mangalore, Jul 4: Opposing the State Government's decision to increase the fees for engineering, medical and dental courses and adopting the Karnataka Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fee) Special Provisions Bill, 2006, the students of various colleges of the city boycotted classes.
On Monday, Jul 3, the students led a protest in support of the bandh called by the All College Students' Union.
The youth power held a protest rally from and even blocked the road near State Bank of India Circle for some time. The effigy of Chief Minister Kumaraswamy was also burned.
Students from Canara College, St Aloysius College, School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Besant Women's College, Gokarnanatheswara College, Badriya College and various other colleges joined the rally.
