Udupi, Jul 4: Dr. NSAM English School at Nitte, which is a unit of Nitte Education Trust, bagged the International School Award for 2005-06 from the British Council, UK.

The British Council works jointly with the Department for International Development. Further it supports effective working relationships between schools in the UK and India, stated a press release from the school.

Global school partnership was a powerful way of bringing a global dimension into the lives of students and teachers.

"Think locally act globally and think globally act locally, was the slogan which encouraged involvement of local communities in school partnerships, disseminated information on "best practice" within global school partnerships and delivered free professional development opportunities for school staff involved.

The headmistress of the school Neeta Kishore is to be credited for this honour to the school.
