Kiran Bedi ready to be BJP's Delhi CM candidate

New Delhi, May 21 (PTI): A day after dropping hints of joining politics, former IPS officer and Team Anna member Kiran Bedi today said she was ready to become the BJP's Chief Ministerial nominee in Delhi if such an offer was made to her.

"I will consider myself to be ready for it if such an offer is made," she said.

The former IPS officer was asked if she would become the BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate in case of fresh elections in Delhi.

The BJP had projected Harsh Vardhan as the party's Chief Ministerial candidate in the Assembly polls in December last year.

Vardhan has won the Lok Sabha election from Chandni Chowk and there is speculation that Bedi may be considered the BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate in the next assembly polls.

Bedi, who has been heaping praise on Narendra Modi in the past couple of months, yesterday dropped hints of joining politics.

"I no more rule out entering Indian political service on capability basis. I am moving towards some flexibility in this," she had tweeted.

Bedi, who was part of core team of Anna Hazare during his agitation for a strong Lokpal legislation, has openly been hailing Modi's leadership saying he could lead the country effectively.

"The country seems to be in post-Independence euphoria once again. One of hope, joy, anticipation, anxiety, revival, ethics, merit, gratitude," she said on Twitter.

On Monday, expelled AAP MLA Vinod Kumar Binny had called upon BJP, AAP and Congress leaders to consider Bedi for the post of Delhi chief minister, saying holding fresh Assembly elections would be a wastage of public money.

    Dear Anil R:
Yes , I agree with you that for all purposes that we are living in a 'I scratch your back ,You scratch Mine' era. All is 'Quid Pro Quo' related. Even relationships nowadays hinge on this principle. What to say of the rest?Gone are 'human values' and in the name of competition and progress we are letting ourselves slowly into a quagmire! The situation is still set to worsen and many say there's more scope for rot!
In this scenario therefore 'optimism' is the only thing one can cling onto. Or at least think of our 'elders' and the vision they had for us. How hard they fought for us, our independence to be the way we are now.
Though many may not like it ,it was a fact that Gandhiji wanted the original Congress dissolved. The 'freedom fighters' then were a class apart who sacrificed everything and got nothing!
So also is the present BJP which had it's origin in the Jan Sangh.Do you know how the people then had toiled for the party selflessly? It was heartening to hear Modi remember them in his speech the other day! None of the luminaries are in the party today!
It has a different 'face' altogether !!
You speak of the Ambani's ,Adani's and all that in isolation. They too will have a 'story' to tell you ,as to how their father's , forefathers came up the hard way.
    Got my point?
In short it's on the 'elder's sacrifice' that we all rule the roost now.
We should be 'aware' of this time and again and that at best may help us commit a fewer mistakes at the pace we are going trying to reach a 'goal' as if there is no tomorrow and giving no place for humanitarian values.
A beginning in this regard has to be made from US only as we are solely responsible for the situation we find ourselves in.

Now since BJP is there with a huge mandate, she sees the right opportunity to claim a position. And that too the Chief Minister's position without going through the grind. Kiran Bedi & Arvind Kejriwal have lot of similarities and some differences.
Both were top ranking bureaucrats, became anti corruptions crusaders, were averse to join any political parties.
But then both became politicians A.K. formed his his own party, got nearing mandate to become Delhi C.M.
For short of own MLS's and inability to adhere to menifesto, he gave up power.
K.B. tilted towards BJP and would like to be C.M. of Delhi.
LET'S SEE NOW WHAT'S IN STORE FOR PEOPLE CHOOSE THEIR LEADERS FOR THE FACTS KNOWN TO THEM, EITHER IT WILL BE FOR GOOD OR DISASTER.

What I appreciate about Arvind Kejriwal is that he fights the corrupted system tooth and nail, whereas Kiran Bedi never had the guts to fight it tooth and nail. In fact when a Jr. Officer was promoted higher than her for Sr. Police Post instead of fighting it legally she resigned prematurely. This itself shows her guts to fight. People of Delhi will not believe her and she will be a pawn among the corrupted BJP leaders.

Dear Eric Saab, for your kind info our system is not corrupt but few people who occupied the top posts are corrupt….. Why did Kejriwal gone to Jail? Because he wanted to challenge the system rather than focusing on corrupt people…. Giving Bail Bond is one of the principles adopted by our judicial system…. Person like Subroto denied bail just because he did not adhere to the system. It is true that our system is very old passion needs to revised but it doesn’t mean that you can fight or argue with the Judge to change the system!!!!

AAP is a B team of Congress. He has taken support of corrupt Congress party to form Govt at Delhi itself shows that he is not a clean person. He keeps only Rs 500 in his pocket but never so far surrendered the 5 BHK bunglow alloted him when he was the CM.There is a proverb in Kannada i.e., "Heluvudu shasrtra...haakuvudu gaala" so Kejriwal 's attiture and behaviour. He is too childish the attiture doues not fit in to become a CM.His radical thinkings are outdated. He has collected crores of ruppees as 'chanda' now it has become fashion anf passion for him.Giving non corrupt certificate to him i a sheer foolishness.Person sance maturity does not deserve to lead any state govt and even Muncipal council. No doubt,he is chillar man of a chillar party.

Loyalty is what matters in any political party when it comes appointing to an important post.
