Panaji, Jul 5: The Goa Doordarshan Kendra, Panaji will telecast the  Street Play of Goa Home Guards and Civil Defence Organization on  Friday, July 9. on Prime time slot at 7.30 pm on the subject of  'Drug Awareness'.

The story of the play revolves around a young college girl who is being lured into the habit of  drugs by her friends' circle and finally at a party she is knocked out due to excess consumption of drugs and had to  be taken to the hospital.

The story ends with the father of the girl planning to take her to the rehabilitation centre while all her friends pledging  not to take drugs in future and fight the menace with full force.

The cast of the street play includes Civil Defence Instructor Chandrahas K. Rane, Company Commander Home Gurads of Panaji Division John Aguiar, Home Guard volunteers Narayan Pagi, Ranganath Kawlekar, Gurudas Kerkar, Civil Defence volunteers Adv. Sadika Buddashet and Adv. Avinash Bhonsle.

Champa Panjikar of Goa Doordarshan has produced the street play.
