Puttur, Jul 7: The taluk level unit of AHINDA (a combine of minorities, backward classes and dalits) has demanded an impartial investigation in the murder case of Akshata of Tarigudde.

An emergency meeting of AHINDA was held on Friday July 7 morning.  The meeting was presided over by taluk AHINDA president Salmara Nooruddin.  The members demanded the police to arrest the accused as soon as possible.

The meeting also raised its fears about the provocative speech delivered by leaders of some organization in which they had spoken about taking law into their hands.  The members demanded to take suitable action in this regard too.

It was also decided that a high level delegation of AHINDA would meet the home minister and apprise him of the developments post-Akshata's murder.

M S Shivappa, Abubakkar Arlapadav, Ganesh Karekkad, Narayana Charvaka and others were also present at the meeting.

Meanwhile MLA Shakuntala Shetty has asked the administration to hand over the case to DCIB police.
