A Tribute to Anil Kumble

THE HUMBLE KUMBLE
Rarely have we seen a cricketer so humble,
As our own dear Anil Kumble,
Batsmen of every country ,
he makes them tumble !
After Jim Laker’s famous ten,
India closest in 1959 had seen,
Jasu Patel who had Richie Benaud’s men nine !
But our humble Kumble had the Pakistani ten,
When he snared them at our Feroze Shah Kotla den,
Such an event we’ll see we don’t know when!
At last Nagpur Test against the English he did save the game,
Along with Kaif a century parternership to their name ,
Has only further boosted Anil’s cricketing fame !
At Mohali did he get a match haul of nine,
Again with the willow he did shine,
The man of the match award overfilled his cup of wine!
The mighty Windies at Kingston had their fall
With Bat and Ball
Anil was always tall,
But yet even if he dropped he never will grumble,
The man of our hearts Anil Kumble is forever humble !
Anil’s s spin has carved many an Indian Test win,
Yet his name’s not in the one dayer’s team ,
pray what may be his sin,
If Anil in the world cup team is in
In 2007 the final’s India’s surely will Win !
