Puttur, Jul 10: Following a bundh call given by Sri Ram Sene, taluk magistrate has clamped Section 144 in the taluk limits on Monday July 10.
The taluk magistrate issued an order in this regard on Sunday July 9. As per the Section, all kinds of meetings, processions etc have been banned in the town police station limits. However, the Section does not apply to usual business including the weekly market which is on Monday.
Deputy commissioner Maheshwar Rao, SP B Dayanand and other senior officials visited the city on Sunday and took stock of the things. The police have made special security arrangements to meet any situation.
In-charge DySP Subhaschandra has taken lead of the security arrangements.
