Four killed in Afghanistan suicide bomb attack


Kabul, June 2 (IANS): At least four people were killed and three others injured Monday when a group of suicide bombers attacked a district headquarters in Afghanistan's Helmand province, an official said.

"A group of suicide bombers, presumably four persons, targeted the headquarters of Gereshk district at around 11.30 a.m. and so far three persons have been killed, while gun battle goes on," the official told Xinhua.

One suicide bomber blew himself up at the gate of the district headquarters enabling three others to enter, the official said.

Police returned fire, triggering a gun battle, he said. 

The other three victims include a civilian and two policemen.
