New Delhi, Jun 3 (Agencies) : In what may be a move to fend of rivals, SpiceJet today announced a special offer for its customers under which it is offering all inclusive one-way ticket on all connecting flights at Rs 2,999.
According to a statement, the airline has taken this step to stimulate travel from second tier cities.
This sale is applicable for bookings made between 3 June, 2014 to 5 June, 2014 (both dates inclusive) for travel between 6 July, 2014 and 28 March 2015 (both dates inclusive).
The offer is valid for bookings made on all “via” and connecting flights only on SpiceJet's domestic network.
"We at SpiceJet are focused in our effort to stimulate travel and with this campaign we hope our customers in second tier cities will benefit from the super low fare," Kaneswaran Avili, Chief Commercial Officer of SpiceJet, said in the release.
Spicejet's move comes soon after AirAsia launched its service in India and announced its first flight from Bangalore to Goa would be priced at Rs 990. This move is expected to spark off a fresh war on air fares.
On 30 May, IndiGo announced a special Re 1 base fare on the Bangalore-Chennai and Bangalore-Goa routes, to take on AirAsia India.
