Mangalore, Jul 12: Dr Nidarsh D Hegde professor of the A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences has been elected to the senate of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
Dr Hegde was elected from the constituency of professors for which counting took place on Jul 7 and 8.
Hegde stood first and secured maximum first preferential votes among the elected members and created a record by securing maximum first preferential votes since the inception of the university.
Dr Nidarsh was a senate member and this is his second term.
